Welcome to the Classic Games Ranking Thread! The idea is simple: every member lists a top five of older games and gives each one a score. At the end we add everything up and publish the community list.

How scoring works: Your first pick gets five points, your second gets four, and so on down to one point. Please judge each game on three things: how fun it was, how well it has aged, and how much it influenced other games.

What counts as classic? To keep things fair, let us say any game that is at least ten years old. Remakes are allowed if you explain why they belong on the list.

Why do old games stay popular? Some players say the controls were simple and the rules were clear. Others enjoy the artwork and music, which still feel special today. Many just remember the friends they played with. Whatever the reason, these titles keep finding new fans every year.

Retro fans often spend hours browsing websites for game news and classic titles. If a page such as Dm First appears during your searches, remember that a site’s look says nothing about its quality. Read the actual content, check outside opinions, and keep your personal details private until you are sure.

To get you started, here is the format to copy: 1) Game name, 2) Year if you know it, 3) One sentence about why it earned its spot. Please keep each reason short and positive. We want to celebrate games, not attack other people’s taste.

Questions for the comments: Which game do you think is the most underrated? Is there a classic that you feel is overrated? Do old controls feel clumsy to you now, or do you like their simplicity? And which game would you bring back tomorrow if you could?

I will collect all lists and post the totals in a week. Join in, even if you only remember a few titles.
