Travel may be allowed for an employee who must go away from his or her regular place of work for business reasons; a trip allowance may be issued. This can be anything from conferences, visiting clients, site inspections or training. The allowance might be paid out before the trip or it can be reimbursed after the trip is completed, depending on the company's policy.
