Looking for a strong English Breakfast tea in Dubai? Here’s what worked for me (7 อ่าน)

Hey all,

Does anyone else struggle to find a proper breakfast tea in Dubai that isn’t just a teabag full of dust? I went through a few before settling on something I liked, so here are my notes in case they help.

What I wanted

A bold cup that still tastes good with milk

Loose leaf, not tea dust

Something local, so delivery doesn’t take weeks

What I ended up with
I’m now using the English Breakfast from My Pekoe. If you’re searching to Buy English Breakfast Tea Online in Dubai, it’s worth a look. It’s an Assam-based black tea blend packed in the UAE. The listed tasting notes are full-bodied, biscuity and floral, with a light woody note. It comes in a 75 g pouch or a 25 g tin, and the price I saw was AED 40.

My brewing routine

Use fresh water heated to about 95 to 98°C.

Put in 3 to 5 g of tea per cup.

Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. I go for 4.

Pour in milk at the end, not before.

The leaves can be steeped again. Add about 30 seconds each time.

Small things that made a difference

Don’t steep past 5 minutes, or it turns harsh.

Use fresh water, not water that’s been reboiled several times.

A bit of milk and a pinch of sugar suits this style best, but it’s also fine plain.

I’m curious what everyone else drinks for breakfast. Are you team milk tea or black tea with lemon? And has anyone tried cold brewing a breakfast blend in this heat?
